What are the Steps to Bring Necessary Changes to Your PAN Card Details Online?

Step 1: Search for the official website of UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited. Open their authentic link.

Step 2: Here, you get the option ‘PAN Card Services’. Click on it to select the ‘Change/ Correction’ option from the dropdown box.

Step 3: Select ‘Apply for Change/Correction in PAN Card Details’ to proceed to a new page.

Step 4: Here, you get the facility of paperless service. For this, you have to select ‘Forward Application with Digital Documents’. 

Step 5: You will see an option ‘Aadhaar based e-KYC’. Choose it from a dropdown list.

Step 6: Provide the PAN number and mention that you will require a new card with updated details.

Step 7: Provide the necessary information to fill up the blank fields and complete the transaction.

Step 8: Now, Aadhaar verification will follow on the UIDAI network and after this real-time analysis, the application is ready for further processing.

Step 9: You receive an OTP in your Aadhaar-linked phone number. Enter it and provide an e-consent to the database allowing it to capture all information recorded by UIDAI and migrate them to your PAN card correction form

Step 10: Verify the finalised set of data and fill up the other data fields (if any).

Step 11: Now, you must enter another OTP correctly to successfully place the Aadhaar-based e-signature at the end of the consent letter.

Now, UTI-ITSL will process the application and make necessary changes usually within 15-30 days. You can track the application status by entering the acknowledgement number on their official website.

Besides this method, you may also visit the official website of NSDL to correct your PAN details online. If you choose this second option, make sure to follow these steps:

Step 1: Search for the option ‘Application Type’. Accessing it click on ‘Changes and Correction in existing PAN Data/Reprint of PAN Card’.

Step 2: Manually enter the personal details, solve the CAPTCHA and click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Step 3: Next, you have to scan and digitally upload the KYC documents. Also, to attest the files, you need to provide an e-signature at this stage.

Step 4: You are redirected to a payment gateway once you provide the necessary details in the previous step. Here, you can pay via UPI, net banking, or a debit/credit card. Keep the payment receipt handy. 

Step 5: Verify the personal information as displayed on your Aadhaar card. This includes checking every minute detail like full residential address line, guardian’s name, the spelling of your name, etc. 

Step 6: Once you have provided the e-signature after verifying the details, request for an OTP.

Step 7: Enter the OTP to view a page that will provide you with active correction status in future.

Step 8: You may download the correction form for future needs. 

Why do You Need an Instant PAN Card?

The instant PAN card was launched by Ministry of Finance on 28th May 2020 as a valid substitute of the traditional PAN card. Also referred to as the e-PAN, you can generate this easy-to-use version in just 10 minutes with no additional cost. This card comes in handy while executing a lot of purposes such as:

  • Filing income tax returns
  • Registering a new Demat account
  • Opening a new bank account online
  • Applying for a new credit facility
  • Paying tax, etc.

How to Get Your Own Instant PAN Card Using Aadhaar Details?

The application process involves very simple actions. All you need to do is follow these directions minutely.

  • Open the official website of Income Tax India. Search for the ‘Instant PAN using Aadhaar’ option from the fast links. Once you find it, click on it.
  • Select ‘Get New PAN’ and after that enter your unique Aadhaar number.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions and solve the CAPTCHA puzzle.
  • Generate OTP. Upon receiving it, enter it correctly.

Now, you have successfully completed your registration and will receive a new e-PAN within 10 minutes. To download it, simply select ‘Download PAN’ under ‘Check Status’. Here, you will be asked to re-enter the Aadhaar number. Provide it, fill in the CAPTCHA and you will be redirected to the page having a download link for e-PAN.
